Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a car stereo installation take?
Most head unit and speaker installations take two to four hours. A full system with an amplifier, subwoofer and custom fabrication usually means leaving the vehicle with us for the day. We will give you a realistic time when we see the car, not an optimistic one.
Will a new stereo work with my steering wheel controls?
Yes, in nearly every case. We use a vehicle-specific interface module that keeps your factory steering wheel buttons working with the new head unit, and on most cars it also preserves the factory backup camera and chimes. Bring the vehicle in and we will confirm what is available for your exact year and model.
Can I get Apple CarPlay in an older car?
If it has a standard radio opening, almost certainly. We install CarPlay and Android Auto head units in vehicles going back to the 1990s. Cars with the radio built into the dash as one piece need a dash kit, which we fit as part of the job. Call us with your year, make and model and we will tell you straight away.
Do I need an amplifier, or will better speakers do?
Better speakers alone will give you clearer sound at normal volume. An amplifier is what gives you volume without distortion and lets the speakers do what they are capable of. If your complaint is that it sounds muddy, speakers usually fix it. If it is that it is not loud enough, you want an amp. We will listen to your system and tell you which one you actually need.
Do you fix car audio systems you did not install?
Yes. We diagnose and repair systems installed elsewhere, including aftermarket work that was done badly. Bring it in and we will tell you what is wrong before doing anything.
What brands do you carry?
Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, Sundown Audio, DS18, AudioControl, Audiopipe, PowerBass, Hifonics and Ground Shaker, plus Metra installation hardware. We have been selling these lines since 2002 and we stock what we install.

Sealed or ported, 10 or 12 inch, and why underpowering is what actually kills subwoofers.

Having a remote starter fitted at the same time saves you a second visit, since both jobs run off the same wiring behind the dash. Plenty of customers also have window tint applied or pick out custom wheels and tires while the car is already with us. Financing is available on complete audio systems.
